Boston-based startup SOND has emerged from stealth with $7 million in funding to launch Dreambuds, a new type of sleep earbuds. The product is designed to actively monitor and improve sleep by capturing 12 physiological signals from users. The device utilizes a cloud-based AI sleep coach to provide personalized audio programs based on real-time data. Co-founded by Yadid Ayzenberg, former Head of Sleep Products at Bose, SOND aims to address consumer demands for more effective sleep solutions. The initial funding comes from several investors, including E14 Fund and Boston Scientific co-founder John Abele. Dreambuds can track various metrics such as heart rate variability and snoring, and offers over 500 audio programs for users. The startup's technology represents a significant advancement in sleep technology, moving beyond traditional sound-masking earbuds.
