Southend-on-Sea City Council has initiated its 13th annual Toy Drive to collect gifts for vulnerable children ahead of Christmas. The drive, which runs until December 15, aims to expand its reach beyond the 44,702 toys distributed to over 21,200 children in previous years. Donations of new, unwrapped toys for children and teenagers are especially encouraged, as these age groups often receive the fewest gifts. Councillor Mandy O'Connor expressed gratitude for community generosity and emphasized the importance of supporting local toy shops. The council is seeking contributions of toys suitable for ages up to 18, including vouchers and selection packs. More information is available on the council's website.
