Turner Industries Expands Nuclear Manufacturing in Louisiana

Turner Industries announced plans to expand nuclear manufacturing facilities in New Iberia and Port Allen, Louisiana, creating 500 jobs at each site. The facilities will produce high-precision modules and nuclear-grade piping for advanced reactors. The New Iberia facility will feature 90,000 sq. ft. of indoor fabrication space and a dock capable of loading modules weighing up to 6,000 tons. The Port Allen facility will focus on pipe fabrication and painting, producing up to 6,500 spools per month. This expansion aligns with Louisiana's Nuclear Strategic Framework, which aims to enhance the state's nuclear capabilities and workforce. NRC Chair Ho Nieh highlighted the importance of addressing financing, supply chain, and workforce issues in nuclear reactor deployment. The facilities will adhere to NRC quality standards and are expected to support the acceleration of nuclear reactor deployment in the U.S.
