On June 17, 2026, the UAE Banks Federation (UBF) organized the fifth edition of the National Cyber Wargaming, aimed at improving the cybersecurity capabilities of the banking sector. Over 350 participants, including representatives from various banks and cybersecurity experts, engaged in simulations to assess their response to cyber incidents. The exercises focused on identifying strengths and areas for improvement in dealing with cyber threats. Ebrahim Al Zaabi from the Central Bank emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to enhance cyber resilience. The event also recognized outstanding contributions in cybersecurity, highlighting the critical role of financial institutions in safeguarding digital infrastructure. Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti noted that cybersecurity is essential for protecting sensitive data and critical systems amid rapid digital transformation. The UAE's National Cybersecurity Strategy has positioned the country as a leader in cybersecurity readiness.
