The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to enhance cybersecurity and digital forensics in India. The agreement, formalized on May 5, 2026, aims to strengthen cyber resilience across UIDAI's digital infrastructure, which is critical for India's digital identity ecosystem. The collaboration focuses on six key areas: academic and professional development, information security, forensic infrastructure, technical support for cybersecurity, research in emerging technologies, and outreach initiatives. Notable technologies involved include artificial intelligence, blockchain, and deepfake detection. UIDAI CEO Vivek Chandra Verma emphasized the importance of this partnership in safeguarding India's digital identity systems against evolving cyber threats.
