Vo1d malware, which emerged in September 2024, has infected nearly 1.6 million Android TV devices. Initially a backdoor, it has evolved to deploy additional malicious payloads and conduct proxy services. Active bot numbers have decreased from a peak, but infections surged since February 21, 2025.
