YUDU Sentinel, a cybersecurity firm based in Clitheroe, Lancashire, has been awarded £295,000 from Innovate UK's Cyber Scale programme to develop technology aimed at managing cyber incidents when IT systems are compromised. The funding comes as a response to the increasing costs of cyber attacks, which average £190,000 for UK businesses. YUDU's Sentinel platform, developed since 2018, enables secure communication and incident management for organizations in regulated sectors, including financial services and critical national infrastructure. The 12-month project, which started in September 2026, will involve collaboration with SP Electricity North West and Lancaster University to explore AI's role in supporting teams during live incidents. The CEO of YUDU, Richard Stephenson, emphasized the significance of this funding as a recognition of their ongoing efforts in the cybersecurity sector.
