Zano has restarted its blockchain from block 3,833,000 to mitigate a vulnerability in Gateway Addresses that allowed unauthorized issuance of ZANO and fUSD tokens. This rollback erases approximately one month of transaction history, impacting users and exchanges. The vulnerability did not compromise wallet security or transaction privacy but affected asset issuance mechanisms. MEXC has suspended ZANO and fUSD deposits and withdrawals during the recovery process. Zano plans to reimburse affected parties using developer and large-holder funds without creating additional tokens. The core team has yet to release a detailed technical post-mortem on the exploit. Users are advised to retain transaction IDs and check the status of previous transfers before resuming transactions. The rollback occurred just before the activation of Hard Fork 6, which introduced the Gateway Address feature.
