"No evidence that data has been stolen" in cybersecurity incident, says Ahold Delhaize

Ahold Delhaize, the parent company of supermarket chains Albert Heijn and Delhaize, says it has no evidence that customer data was stolen in the cybersecurity incident affecting the company. The investigation is still ongoing, it says.

The supermarket group, which operates in several countries, reported a cybersecurity incident on its network on Monday. The company has not clarified exactly what is going on since then.

The incident is affecting the group's supermarkets: in Belgium, both Albert Heijn and Delhaize suspended online orders. Delhaize customers can now place orders again, but the service is not yet operating at full capacity. The group is supplying individual supermarkets on an ad hoc basis.

In a Tuesday afternoon update, the group said it was working on a solution. Progress had been made, and the group had begun a "controlled restart of certain systems". Meanwhile, each of the group's local chains is "working hard to serve customers and limit disruption", it said.
