VNPT's cybersecurity experts have reverse-engineered a multi-stage malware toolkit that targets organizations in Vietnam. The findings were presented at the Virus Bulletin Conference 2026 in Seville, Spain. The malware operates in nine stages, using various mechanisms to maintain activity, conceal its tracks, and limit detectability. The research team developed tools to support malware research and detection rules based on their analysis. This work aims to enhance threat hunting and response capabilities against targeted attacks. The presentation has raised awareness of domestic cybersecurity issues in the international community. VCI has previously shared research at other conferences, demonstrating a commitment to improving cybersecurity practices in Vietnam.
