During the Five Country Ministerial in Sydney, Secretary Shabana Mahmood emphasized the need for international cooperation to tackle sophisticated organized crime groups exploiting digital platforms. The new strategy includes enhanced intelligence-sharing and coordinated actions to disrupt fraud operations across borders. The UK government has also committed £250 million to strengthen law enforcement capabilities against fraud. Additionally, the INTERPOL Global Fraud Taskforce will aid in mapping organized fraud networks and supporting international operations. The measures aim to protect the public and reduce the financial impact of fraud, which costs victims billions annually.
