A camera bag containing SD memory cards with photographs of students from Priory School in Lewes, England, was stolen from a vehicle belonging to the photography company Pret-a-Portrait between October 6 and 7, 2026. The stolen cards may include images of pupils along with QR code cards that display their names and class information. The principal, Jon Curtis-Brignell, confirmed that the same equipment was used for additional photography jobs after the school visit. Pret-a-Portrait believes that most files may have been overwritten but cannot guarantee this. The company has taken steps to mitigate the risk, including taking photos offline and updating procedures for data handling. Sensitive data such as addresses and medical information stored in the school's systems remain unaffected. The incident has been reported to the police and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
