- •Vishing incidents doubled in the first half of 2026, highlighting the growing threat.
Ribbon Communications has introduced the Call Trust Deepfake Detection service, aimed at protecting enterprises, service providers, and government agencies from AI-generated synthetic audio threats. The solution will enable reliable detection of synthetic audio at scale, as the prevalence of such threats continues to rise. Customer lab trials are set to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The technology analyzes call streams through Ribbon's Session Border Controllers using patent-pending algorithms to identify artificial voice content, including segments inserted into legitimate calls. The rise of agentic AI has led to a doubling of vishing incidents in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous half, with significant reports of deepfake incidents during audio and video calls. Ribbon's solution does not require users to install applications, providing seamless integration into existing network infrastructures. This development comes as trust in voice communications is increasingly eroded due to the ease of creating convincing voice imitations.
