Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and BlackBerry have launched the Cyber Pathways program, a professional cybersecurity certification initiative aimed at developing a skilled workforce in Malaysia. The 24-week program features a three-tier structure covering Cyber Protection, Cyber Management, and Cyber Security, targeting recent graduates and professionals transitioning into cybersecurity roles. This collaboration is part of a broader multi-year agreement to strengthen Malaysia's cybersecurity talent pipeline and enhance cyber resilience across the ASEAN region. The program addresses the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals in Malaysia's digital economy, providing participants with industry-recognized certifications and practical competencies. The launch was attended by key figures including BlackBerry CEO John Giamatteo and UKM Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sufian Jusoh, who emphasized the importance of industry-academia partnerships in preparing talent for evolving cyber threats.
