Md. Bakhtiar Abid Khan, a 21-year-old Facebook group administrator, was arrested by the CID of Bangladesh Police for online fraud, cyber extortion, and misuse of technology related to ticket sales for Atif Aslam's concert on July 24. The organizers, Event Sajai and Main Stage Inc., discovered that the Bangladesh Concert & Event Connects (BCEC) group was promoting tickets using images from a canceled concert. When approached to remove the fraudulent posts, Khan allegedly demanded BDT 100,000 and threatened to continue the scam. An official complaint was filed on July 15 under the Cyber Security Act, 2026. The CID tracked Khan using digital forensics and arrested him on July 16, seizing an iPhone 11 believed to be used in the fraud. He has since confessed to managing the BCEC group and is currently under investigation.
