A report from Coveware indicates that the percentage of ransomware victims paying extortion demands has dropped to 23%, down from 28% in the first quarter of 2024. The average ransom payment has also decreased significantly, falling from approximately $377,000 last year to around $140,000 this year. This trend marks a continued decline in payment resolution rates observed over the past six years.
